Mahindra New Scorpio Summary
One of the most popular SUVs in India, the all-new Scorpio is going to launch in the country soon. It will enter the fourth generation with radical changes to the exterior and interior. The all-new Scorpio is expected to launch here sometime in the third quarter of 2022.
Mahindra intends to change the overall brand image by reintroducing the existing cars with a new perception and also intends to achieve newness in its cars with a modern design philosophy. The latest generation Scorpio will get a new body-on-frame chassis, probably similar to the all-new Thar.
With the new-generation update, the SUV is going to have a fresh interior and some additional features. There is also a high chance of a reasonably big enough infotainment touchscreen supporting Apple CarPlay and Android Auto making its way to the cabin. It could also get built-in navigation and remote operation function via Bluesense connect app.
The new Scorpio is expected to come with a host of modern features such as cruise control, a voice command function, engine start/stop switch, multiple airbags, a sunroof, ABS with EBD, electronic stability program with rollover mitigation, hill hold assist, two-zone temperature control, traction control, smartphone connectivity, USB ports and a wireless charging pad.
Mahindra will offer two powertrain choices with the Scorpio – a third-generation 2.2-litre four-cylinder diesel mHawk engine and a new 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbocharged petrol mStallion motor that will create more power than the Thar’s engine. Both the engines are likely to be available with either a six-speed manual gearbox or a six-speed automatic. Besides, Mahindra is expected to equip the new Scorpio with a part-time four-wheel-drive system.
